Waste-Free Lunch Challenge
Dear St Mark community,
The Eco Club is running a four-week Waste-Free Lunch Challenge and we’re asking for your help. Please help your children pack waste-free lunches to reduce the amount of garbage we generate. A lunch is considered waste-free if it includes food in reusable containers and compostable items such as banana peels, apple cores, etc. There should be no wrappers or single-use plastics such as plastic disposable cutlery or yogurt containers; even if these are recyclable, they are considered “waste”. Teachers will survey their classes and tally these waste-free lunches until March 7, and we hope to see a significant increase in the number of lunches that are waste-free. Thank you for supporting this challenge and for doing your part to reduce waste!
